Falling for Fall

Updated: Sep 10

I'm an October baby, so perhaps that's when I've always loved this season -- and especially in the kitchen.

Leguminous soups, vegetable curries and stews, stuffed and topped breads, and fruity tarts top my list of favorite autumn dishes. Here are a few of my favorites that I hope you'll enjoy too!

By the way, did you catch my interview on ABC news a few weeks back? Love the Foods that Love the Planet is chockful of ideas for a climate-friendly cookout. https://abcnews.go.com/US/video/plan-climate-friendly-summer-cookout-124258787

Did you know mild Mexican chilies can be smoky, chocolatey, or fruity? Learn how to put Mexican chilies to good use on October 30 at East Norwalk Community Library (CT) at 6 pm! I'll be demonstrating how to cook up a delicious pot of Black and Red Bean Chile from my cookbook, Love the Foods that Love the Planet. You'll get to have a bite too! A free event and cookbook sale but pre-registration is required. Phone (203) 838-0408. Hope to see you!

Lastly, my schedule is filling up this fall/winter for private cooking classes at your house or mine. If you've always wanted to expand your repertoire with healthy, eco-friendly, whole plant-based dishes, boost your confidence in the kitchen, or just want to share a fun, engaging afternoon with friends as you garner new culinary know-how, drop me a line.

Until next time!

love,

Cathy

Very well done: personally I like low spice content. The pix and whole thought = great. H. Robert Silverstein, MD--Cardiologist

Yes, that was deliberate. I'll be cooking that dish at the library. It's published in my cookbook and can't be shared on the website.
